Private sessions can be in-person or via the phone or Skype.  For phone or Skype sessions if there is any sound work to be done I will record that separately and send over the internet as an mp3 file. 


During your first session we will go over your history and your intention for growth and healing. Subsequent sessions can include guidance and/or healing work.  Guidance will provide you with skills to empower your life and bring out your inherent gifts and talents. Healing sessions will help you clear obstacles and energy blocks that may be limiting your experience, and provide you with access to nurturing energy and life force to help you manifest your dreams and access your authentic nature. Healing work includes energy clearing, essence retrieval, and shamanic acupuncture. 


Healing is a process of co-creation, we work together to facilitate your journey of self-discovery and transformation, and help evoke the innate wisdom and healing abilities of your own body and soul.  In this work there is nothing to "fix", instead we will be cultivating the conditions of your life so that you can live to the fullest.  An analogy is that of a plant like a tree, a tree is perfect as-is, there is nothing inherently in need of fixing for a tree, but a tree does need a certain amount of sun and fertile soil to grow to its fullest.  That is what we do in healing work, we cultivate the environmental qualities, your equivalent of good sun and soil, that will help you have a beautiful life.

Healing Through Shamanism



What follows are some healing tools used in sessions:


Clearing and Extraction Work


Melissa uses shamanic techniques for removing energy blocks at all levels.  Also includes hands-on clearing and activation of chakras and meridians. 


Essence Retrieval


Sometimes there are energy blessings or essences that come from Spirit during the work.  These are collected and transmitted to the client. Blessings are energy gifts from Spirit, and essences are energies that belong to the client but were "lost" and are being brought back to the present (see Soul Retrieval for more information). 


Sound Healing


Sound attunes the energy field and is a way of altering energy vibrations and consciousness.  Sound is  a vehicle to transfer energy and can open up aspects of consciousness and carry blessings from Spirit.


Shamanic Acupuncture


Shamanic acupuncture is acupuncture practiced through the foundation of shamanism. In these sessions Melissa uses shamanic healing techniques and diagnostic methods in addition to standard acupuncture practices, though even the standard practices are channeled through a shamanic base.  One client called this form of treatment "acupuncture on steroids."

Because the diagnostic methodology is different for shamanic work, these sessions do not usually include standard acupuncture diagnostic assessments or conform to any standardized acupuncture treatment system. Melissa almost always use shamanic healing techniques in conjunction with the acupuncture, and is therefore a good fit for anyone who wants acupuncture plus shamanic energy work. 

As Melissa works outside the standard framework for acupuncture, she does not bill insurance for acupuncture treatments.
